Progressive Clarity
I have an idea…
…but ideas only exist if you share them with someone else, or if they manifest themselves in the world some other way.
1. Why this, why now
I have done many things in my life; been in bands, opened an internet cafe in 1995, taught, founded a technology company, started a school etc and it has brought me here, to desire to share a methodology of creative leadership.
I have searched for the words to describe it, and now I believe I have found them; Progressive Clarity.
I have always been a proponent of walking the walk, and to create a resource to teach others how to employ progressive clarity calls for me to deploy the methodology itself. So here you are, watching the journey, and you will see that some parts seem ‘complete’ to you, others not so much, and that’s ok.
Some things are better when you work them out yourself, so I’ll leave it at that for now.
I hope this space is useful in some ways to some people. Maybe those who have led communities for a while and want the next thing, maybe those who feel anxious and overwhelmed at work or those who want to get an idea out of their head and make it real. I suspect this resource will be a bit like an onion to most people - depending on where you are in life will define how you connect to the ideas that exist here. Maybe one thing will hit you first, and maybe, like most people, it will be like glimpsing a butterfly and flutter off in your mind, never to be seen again, but maybe that one thing will stick. If it does, share it with others and then come back for more, they’ll be waiting, they’ve got nothing better to do.
I’ll be honest with you, this resource will be really loose and to get the most, you’ll have to dig. Like a Ben and Jerry’s. I’m not going to be too scared to post a loose or unthought through idea, I’m just gonna bang it up here, and not worry about the frame of mind iI’m in or whether it will get me more followers or other bullshit. I just want to create an honest and authentic window into my work, and sometimes I’m a dick. And sometimes, so are you. We’ll get over it.
It will also show you how loose ideas form into massively powerful tools that create awesome and beautiful work that shows humanity at its greatest. Some things will be so powerful that a few words will make you cry.
I love shit like that, so maybe some of you will too.
Enjoy!
